Non-Woven vs Paper Bags: Which Should Your Business Choose?
1 September 2026· 4 min read

When the plastic ban pushed businesses to alternatives, two materials won the market: non-woven polypropylene and paper. Buyers asking for non-woven bags wholesale usually want to know one thing — which one makes more sense for their use case?
Durability and reuse
Non-woven bags survive rain, repeated use and heavy loads far better than paper. A 60–90 GSM non-woven bag can be reused dozens of times, which is why exhibitions, supermarkets and pharma distributors prefer them. Paper bags, on the other hand, carry a premium feel that non-woven cannot match — a matte-laminated paper bag with rope handles still reads 'boutique' in a way no non-woven bag does.
Cost at volume
- Non-woven D-cut bags are typically the cheapest branded carrier per piece
- Paper bags cost more per piece but justify it at premium counters
- Both get cheaper fast as quantity rises — the volume curve is steep
The honest answer
Choose non-woven when bags will be given away in volume, used outdoors, or expected to be reused: exhibitions, supermarket runs, pharma, deliveries. Choose paper when the bag is part of the product experience: cafés, boutiques, gifting, saree and jewellery showrooms. Many of our clients run both — non-woven for volume, paper for premium.
Sree Sai Enterprises manufactures both lines under one roof in Hyderabad, so we have no incentive to push you to either. Ask us on WhatsApp with your use case and quantity — we will tell you which one we would buy.
